NETBALL WAIRARAPA SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING THURSDAY 20TH APRIL 2023 @ 6.30PM VIA ZOOM

Games will be played on:

Monday nights at Wairarapa Trusthouse Netball Centre starting 19th Februaary

Registrations close Monday 12th February - please note there must be at least 6 teams per grade for each competition to go ahead 

Twilight will run for 6 weeks

COST 

  • $130 per team maximum of 10 players  - supply own umpire
  • $200 per team - umpire supplied (limited umpires available first in first served)
  • Payments can be made by direct debit to Netball Wairarapa – Westpac 03-0687-0324836-00 ***Please put TN and your team name as reference

IMPORTANT:

  • All teams MUST provide an umpire
  • There will be a limited supply of umpires first in first served basis.  If you require an umpire email ops@netballwai.co.nz to be supplied an umpire

TWILIGHT NETBALL INFORMATION

FORMAT - Games will be 4 x 6 minute quarters; intervals will be 2-2-2 minutes. Rounds may be played at 5.30pm and 6.15pm. Game times are subject to change.

TEAM - In Fast5 Netball there is only 5 positions, not 7. Two Shooters (GA & GS), two Defenders (GD & GK) and one Midcourt (C)

MIXED GRADE - Mixed competitions allow for minimum of one (1) male and up to a maximum of two (2) males on the court and are only permitted in the following positions at any one time 

One (1) male in attack              One (1) male in defence     

POWER PLAY -    The last 90 seconds of playing time in each quarter is designated as the ‘Power Play Period’. This is contested by both teams in each quarter. In a ‘Power Play Period’, all goals scored by a team receive double goal points

CENTRE PASS - ​​​​​​​ All Centre passes are to be taken by the team that did NOT score the previous goal. The paper, scissors, rock or coin toss at the beginning of the game will determine who takes the first pass in each quarter. The winner takes the first pass in the first and third quarters, and the loser takes the second and fourth quarters

UNIFORMS - Teams must be ‘uniform’ in appearance.  Shorts/bike pants/netball skirts (any of these acceptable) but all in the same colours.  Teams must provide their own bibs and match ball.


DEFAULTS - Teams MUST contact ops@netballwai.co.nz by 12pm of game day


CANCELLATIONS - Teams to be advised via the Netball Taranaki website and Facebook page as early as possible.

  • HAVE FUN
  • Provide an umpire who know the rules
  • Rolling subs
  • Leave jewellery and accessories in your bag or at home
  • Fingernails to be short
  • Soft soled shoes
  • Must have own bibs
  • Be nice to the umpires and each other - this is twilight, no the World Cup
