futureFerns Year 1-4

The aim of these workshops are to provide coaches of each year level with the foundation skills needed to deliver quality coaching sessions, focused on the development of basic Netball skills and skill correction.

Workshops are designed to be interactive and to enable participants to share knowledge, experiences, ask questions, obtain feedback and gain confidence.

Year 1-4 Workshop: 

• Tuesday 17th February 2026:  5.30pm

Intermediate 

The aim of this workshop is to provide Intermediate (Year 7&8) Team Coaches, Junior Secondary (Year 9&10) and Student Coaches with skills needed to deliver quality coaching sessions. Focused on the development of appropriate Netball skills and tactical situations.

Workshops are designed to be interactive and to enable participants to share knowledge, experiences, ask questions, obtain feedback and gain confidence.

Intermediate Coach Workshop: Wednesday 25th March 2026 5.30pm

​​​​​​​Entry Level Coach Program

New to Coaching Netball - Entry Level Coach Program will provide coaches with the following outcomes:

1. Demonstrates a good understanding of the game of netball and all rules associated with the game, including umpire protocols
2. Demonstrates a good understanding od all elements of the NetballSmart Warm Up
3. Demonstrates a good understanding of basic netball skills
4. Demonstrates confident techniques to communicate with their team, using different feedback styles and understands the effect feedback has on the player
5. Identifies coachable moments quickly and adapts activities when needed for teams and individual players
6. Understand the purpose and delivery of team talks

Participants completing the Coach Program will receive upon completion:

• Primary Level Coach - Year 7&8 Coach Resource or;
• College Level Coach (Year 9&10) - NNZ 9&10 Coach Resource or;
• College Level Coach (Year 11 to 13) and Club Coach - NNZ Community Coach Resource
• Coach Mentor/Buddy for Winter Season (Framework to be discussed at week 6 session)
• Cost:  $60 per Coach
