Birds of a feather (hopefully) not flocking together.
On Monday a four week trial commenced to trial a non-evasive light and acoustic solution to the problem of birds roosting under the covered courts. Roosting birds who leave users of the covered basketball, tennis and netball courts with unwanted and unhealthy presents on the courts below.
Netball Wairarapa with the support and input of Masterton District Council, Hireways Masterton, Holmes Construction, Bird Control NZ and others are now in the process of monitoring how the solutions work and ultimately improving the facilities and experiences for users of the facilities.
Netball Wairarapa extends a big thank you to Wairarapa community businesses and Masterton District Council who flocked together to make a trial of bird control solution at Wairarapa Trust House Netball Centre happen.
As the trial continues, Netball Wairarapa have noted in researching potential solutions, the use of light and acoustics occurs in wineries, on roof top areas of major store brands near the coastline and internationally. To that, while the trial is running, if businesses have bird issues and are looking to find out more – feel free to reach out to Netball Wairarapa’s Facilities and Commercial Manager on (027) 333-3031 or email cm@netballwai.co.nz .
